Support for families needing temporary relief from caring for a family member with an intellectual disability is available through in-home respite beginning at 6 weeks of age and drop-off and after care programs which both begin at age 12. Temporary, short or long term out of home respite is also available in two Respite Group Homes for adults 21 years or older.

Eligibility

The N.J. Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJDHS/DDD) determines eligibility for this service. All referrals to The Arc/Morris for this service come from DDD.
